Who wrote the song oh Mary you weep?
"Oh Mary, Don't You Weep" is based on the Negro Spiritual, "Sometimes I Feel Like a Motherless Child ", also known as "Motherless Child" or "Sometimes I Feel Like I'm a Motherless Child". The oldest known recording is from 1926 by Elder A.C. Robinson, but the Spiritual has African origins and can be traced back to Slavery in the United States.
