What is the meaning behind national anthem of England?

England does not have its own national anthem. This is because England is part of the United Kingdom, and so uses the UK national anthem "God Save the King".

"God Save the King" dates back to the 18th century and there are no confirmed writers or composers known. However, in 1745 "God Save the King" got popularity and fame when it gained attention. There a different versions known with slight changes or extra verses across countries the British influence reached like Australia, New Zealand, and Canada.
