Why did ray Charles write his song Georgia?

Ray Charles did not write the song "Georgia". The song was originally written in 1930 by Hoagy Carmichael and Stuart Gorrell. Its popularity can be attributed, at least in part, to its use in the 1932 movie "The Cabin in the Cotton" and the 1943 cartoon "A Corny Concerto" featuring Bugs Bunny.
