When did Selena Gomez started singing?

Selena Gomez began her singing career in 2008 when she recorded the theme song for the Disney Channel series "Wizards of Waverly Place," in which she starred as Alex Russo. The series premiered in October 2007, but the theme song was released in 2008. Gomez continued to sing throughout the series, recording several songs for its soundtracks. In 2009, she released her debut studio album, "Kiss & Tell," which debuted at number nine on the Billboard 200 chart and was certified gold by the Recording Industry Association of America (RIAA).
