When did Lady Gaga decide she wanted to be a singer?

Stefani Germanotta (aka Lady Gaga) started taking piano lessons at the age of 4 and began writing her own music when she was 13. She enrolled at the Tisch School of the Arts at New York University's Collaborative Arts Project 21, but she eventually dropped out of college to focus on her music career.
