There is no evidence to suggest that Green Day stole the song "Boulevard of Broken Dreams" from someone. The song was written by Green Day's lead singer, Billie Joe Armstrong, and produced by the band's long-time collaborator, Rob Cavallo. The song was released in 2004 as the lead single from Green Day's seventh studio album, American Idiot.
