What is an audio video source selector?

An audio video source selector, also known as an A/V switcher, is a device that allows multiple audio and video devices to be connected to a single output device, such as a television or a projector. Each source device, such as a DVD player, VCR, or gaming console, can be individually selected using the selector, eliminating the need to repeatedly connect and disconnect cables manually. Some A/V selectors also provide additional features like automatic source switching based on signal detection, video upscaling, or remote control operation for added convenience.
