How to Make a Mixtape Album Cover

Making a mixtape CD makes it possible for you to take some of your favorite songs on the road. It also enables you to create special playlist CDs that match a variety of moods and occasions. Making an album cover or CD sleeve for your mixtape at home adds to the appearance of your mixtape CDs and doesn't take very long to accomplish.

Instructions

    • 1

Open your computer's paint program, whether it's Microsoft Paint or another software. Start a new project.

    • 2

Make the dimensions of your new project approximately 800 by 800 pixels, which is roughly the size of a CD album cover.

    • 3

Choose the paint filler tool and then select the color of your choice. This fills the entire template with the color of your choice.

    • 4

Select the text tool and click and drag from the center of the template to create a text box. Center the text box, if necessary.

    • 5

Choose a font style, size and color from the available list and type the title of your mixtape into the text box. Title the mixtape according to the genre of music, the mood or the artists featured on the mixtape. For example, a mixtape labeled "Relaxing Music" contains a variety of mellow songs.

    • 6

Print the design out on a single sheet of printer paper.

    • 7

Cut the design out of the paper with a pair of scissors, making sure to cut evenly.

    • 8

Open a plastic CD case and place the cut-out design face-down on the inside of the front cover of the CD case.

    • 9

Place a piece or two of clear tape to keep the album art in place.
