Using a PC Keyboard as a MIDI Device in any VST Software

There are often times when a musician wants to create, yet does not have an instrument around. Fortunately, with MIDI and the right software, this is not a problem. While a computer keyboard does not have the same expressiveness as a quality MIDI instrument, it is always with your computer and can get the basics down in a pinch. Also, since MIDI can be used for more than notes, mapping MIDI to your keyboard can help speed up music production and automation.
