Select a 4 x 6 empty closet or a small room. Make sure the space is large enough for all your equipment.
Cut the pads to fit each wall and tack them to each wall. This insulates the walls and keeps the sound from bouncing around the room, which gives you better sound quality on your recording.
Put the table against the wall in one corner of the room, and put the laptop on top of the table. Plug the computer into the multi-power strip and plug the power strip into an outlet. If the space doesn't have an electrical outlet, you can use an extension cord. Run the cord along and tack it to the baseboard. This keeps people from tripping or accidentally pulling your equipment off the table.
Place your stool and microphone stands in the room. Connect the headphones and microphones to the computer. Your recording booth is now ready for use.
