How to Use Maxell CD Cleaner

Cleaning your CD player's lens is an essential part of stereo maintenance. Because the lens is tucked away inside the stereo, it is hard to clean. CD lens cleaners, such as the one created by Maxell, are CDs that have small brushes of synthetic fibers impregnated with copper. The brushes clean and eliminate any electrostatic problems at the same time.

Instructions

      Turn on your stereo and insert the Maxell CD cleaner into the disc drawer.

      Press "Play" on your CD player. The instructions, which are recorded onto the disc, should begin to be heard. Follow these instructions.

      Press "Play" on your stereo if, for whatever reason, the instructions do not play until the insert disc begins to spin. Repeat this method until the disc begins to play properly and the instructions can be heard; the lens may be too dirty to read the disc. The short spins of the disc may be enough to clean the lens sufficiently to start playing the disc properly.
