Rinse your bottle with water.
Fill the bottle with water up to the neck. This will make it sound like a "fresh" bottle. The more water in the bottle, the higher-pitched the cork-popping sound will be. If you want a lower-toned sound, use less water.
Push the cork into the mouth of the bottle firmly using a twisting motion.
Place a condenser microphone next to your bottle. This can be as far away as you wish depending on what perspective you want the listener to have. Condenser microphones have a wider frequency range than any other microphone. This will help you capture more of the nuances of your sound
Insert corkscrew.
Press "Record" on your recording software.
Pull the cork out quickly. This will produce an enjoyable "popping" sound.
