DIY Isolation Booth

It does not have to be expensive to create an isolation booth in your DIY studio. The best tools a home studio has is the home itself. To isolate sound from an amplifier or a vocal microphone, create the isolation booth out of a closet or small room in the house that already has a door. Use cost-effective soundproofing material to coat the walls and you have an isolation booth.

Things You'll Need

Instructions

  1. Instructions

    • 1

Measure the dimensions of your closet. Find the height and width of the ceiling, the three walls, and the inside of the door panel.

    • 2

Measure, cut, and combine the fiberglass pieces into five panels. One for the ceiling, one for each of the three walls, and one for the inside of the door panel. The panels should be cut two inches shy of the dimensions of your closet, but should effectively cover the entire surface.

    • 3

Completely wrap each of the five fiberglass panels in felt. Staple the felt to the fiberglass to secure the felt in place. You should have five separate panels of fiberglass completely covered in felt.

    • 4

Staple the fiberglass panels to the three walls, ceiling, and door.
