How to Format a Boss BR-600

The BOSS BR-600 is a portable eight-track digital recorder, complete with a drum machine and numerous effects, including delay, reverb and pitch correction. A memory card saves your songs and settings, but unless the memory card has been formatted, it will not work with the BR-600. The BR-600 will let you know if your memory card has not been formatted by showing an "Unformatted!" warning on the display screen.

Instructions

    • 1

Turn off the BR-600. Turn the unit off every time you insert or remove your memory card to avoid erasing the card's data.

    • 2

Insert the memory card, then turn the BR-600 on. Click the "UTILITY" button in the "RECORDER/EFFECTS/DRUMS" section.

    • 3

Press the right cursor button until the arrow points to "INI" (short for "initialize") on the display screen. Press the enter button.

    • 4

Press the right cursor button until the arrow points to "CARD." Press the enter button.

    • 5

Press the enter button when the screen displays "INIT CARD Are you sure?" This will begin the initialization process. The screen will display "Completed!" when the memory card has been successfully formatted.
