What are recorders made of?

The earliest known recorders were made from wood. The traditional material used for recorders is hardwoods, such as maple or fruitwoods (plum or cherry). Other woods used include boxwood and rosewood. Some recorders are made of ivory or bone. Modern recorders are often made from plastic, including ABS plastic and PVC plastic.
