Harmonica music for the blaydon races?

Harmonica Music for the Blaydon Races (_trad._ arr. Tommy Thompson)

Here's a song for the Blaydon races,

Which starts just before 2.

We're off to see the fun and frolics,

And gamble if we can through.

We'll back the nags that seem the fastest,

And hope they win by more than an inch.

And watch some of the other fellows,

Who will be on the drink too much.

For it's Blaydon Races, let's all go!

We'll see some fun before the day is through;

For on this day of days, we make our ways,

To the Blaydon Races, me and you.

There'll be a lot of people racing,

To see which horse will come in first.

But only one will take the glory,

And leave all of the rest in the dust.

I'm not a betting man myself,

But I might have a pound or two.

On the gray horse from County Durham,

To try my luck and see me through.

Chorus

And if me luck is out for once,

I'll still enjoy me day!

For a day at the Blaydon Races,

Is a day I'll take away.

We'll watch the horses thunder past,

We'll cheer and shout and stamp our feet.

And with the roar of the crowd behind us,

We'll feel our spirits rise to meet.

Chorus
