Does ne-yo write his own songs?

Shaffer Chimere Smith, best known by his stage name Ne-Yo, is an American singer-songwriter, record producer, dancer, and actor. As a recording artist, he made his debut in 2006 with the album In My Own Words, which was certified platinum by the Recording Industry Association of America (RIAA).

While Ne-Yo has collaborated with many songwriters and producers throughout his career, including StarGate, Chuck Harmony, and The Neptunes, he is also known for his ability to write and produce his own songs. He has written or co-written most of his own hits, including "So Sick", "Miss Independent", "Closer", and "Let Me Love You".

In addition to his own songs, Ne-Yo has also written songs for other artists, including Rihanna, Beyoncé, and Celine Dion. He has won numerous awards for his songwriting, including three Grammy Awards and two ASCAP Awards.

So while Ne-Yo does collaborate with other songwriters, he is also a talented songwriter in his own right, and has written or co-written many of his own hits.
