What drums does Patrick Carney use?

* Ludwig Black Beauty snare drum: This is Carney's main snare drum, and he has used it on countless Black Keys recordings. It's a 14x5" maple shell with a black chrome finish.

* Gretsch Round Badge bass drum: Carney uses a 22x14" Gretsch Round Badge bass drum on most Black Keys recordings. It's a classic rock drum with a big, boomy sound.

* Zildjian cymbals: Carney uses a variety of Zildjian cymbals, including hi-hats, crashes, and rides. He's especially known for his use of the Zildjian K Constantinople ride cymbal, which has a dark, complex sound.

* DW drumsticks: Carney uses DW 5A drumsticks. They're made of hickory and have a medium taper, which gives him a good balance of power and control.

In addition to his standard drum kit, Carney also uses a variety of percussion instruments, including shakers, tambourines, and cowbells. He's not afraid to experiment with different sounds, and he's always looking for new ways to create interesting drum parts.
