How to Convert a Guitar Stand Into a Saxophone Stand
Some guitar stands and saxophone stands are similar in structure. Frequently, the only differentiating feature between the two is the width of the support. Guitar stands tend to feature a wide "U" shaped support, whereas saxophone stands have a smaller support to accommodate the slender body of a sax. With a little elbow-grease, a guitar stand can be bent to nicely accommodate either an alto or a tenor saxophone. Because soprano saxophones and baritone saxophones are constructed differently, a guitar-stand conversion will not function with these instruments.

1
Remove the guitar rest from the bottom of your stand. This should slide out.
-
2
Bend the two prongs inwards. Your guitar rest should look like a "U." Bend together the tips until they meet.
-
-
3
Slide this part back onto your stand.
-
4
Lower the neck support on your stand. This should be controlled by a screw behind the stand. The screw is designed to be turned by hand to adjust for guitar height so it should turn easily to the left to loosen and to the right to tighten.

Set your saxophone on top of the stand. The tips that you folded together should cradle the saxophone.
