In 1968, Yamaha Corporation unveiled its first line of stereo products. These innovations followed the first electric guitar and drum production series. The Yamaha Corporation had recently expanded its offices into Europe with the establishment of Yamaha Europa GmBH.
In 1978, Yamaha first begin selling the NS-1000M speaker. The NS-1000M utilized a beryllium radiator that was known for its light weight and internal damping abilities. Yamaha was the first audio equipment manufacturer to use this metal in speaker production.
In 1999, Yamaha released its first series of computer speakers, the YSTM8. Since its release, a number of significantly evolved speaker products have been developed, such as the YSTMS50 speaker and subwoofer combination.
