How to Report Music Piracy
United States copyright law prohibits the copying, sharing and distribution of copyright protected sound recordings in both online and offline environments. While the digital age has enabled these practices to run rampant, new laws enacted in 2008 now allow copyright infringers to be punished much more severely under federal law. Due to the intricacies of the law, it is sometimes difficult to understand exactly what constitutes illegal music piracy. Fortunately, the Recording Industry Association of America provides an avenue for you to report any suspected piracy.
