Where did the name led zeppelin come from?
The name "Led Zeppelin" was inspired by a comment made by Keith Moon, the drummer of The Who. During a tour with The Who in 1968, Jimmy Page, the guitarist of Led Zeppelin, mentioned that his new band was going to be "heavy as lead". Moon responded by saying that they would go down like a "lead zeppelin". Page liked the sound of the name and decided to use it for his band.
