What is first album?

An album is a collection of audio recordings issued as a single unit. The term "album" originally referred to a book containing a collection of music, but in the early 20th century, the term began to be used to describe a collection of phonograph records. The first album of phonograph records was released in 1898 by the Berliner Gramophone Company. The album, titled "The Gramophone Concert," featured four 7-inch records and was sold for $5. The album included performances of classical music, marches, and popular songs.
