J D Sumner has been referred to as the "King of Bass," although he is not literally the lowest bass singer. There are numerous trained singers who can sing as low as G₂, although many of them are not particularly well known. In popular music, Tim Storms holds the record for the lowest note produced by a human, a G_-7 (0.189 Hz) produced in November 2021.
