What are the duties of a choir president?

President:

1. Calls all official choir meetings and presides over them.

2. Ensures that the goals of the choir are effectively communicated to choir members and that individual strengths are used to support these goals.

3. Works closely with the choir director and other officers to ensure that all areas of choir life are operating effectively and efficiently.

4. Serves as a liaison between the choir and the community or organization it represents.

5. Is responsible for the development and maintenance of good relations with the school administration, other clubs and departments, and the community at large.

6. Serves on the executive committee of the Music or Arts Society.

7. Supervises the work of all appointed committees.

8. Acts on the advice of the choir director and the other officers.

9. Has the power to call special meetings of the choir or the choir board.

10. Approves the spending of funds.

11. Signs any necessary correspondence, contracts or other documents on behalf of the choir.

12. Is ultimately responsible for all matters pertaining to the choir.
