Where does the oboe sit in orchestra?

In an orchestra, the oboe is usually placed in the front row of the woodwinds section, next to the flutes and clarinets. This is because the oboe is a relatively high-pitched instrument and can be easily heard over the other instruments. Additionally, the oboe is often used for solo passages and melodies, so it is important for it to be placed in a prominent position.
