The original Trans-Siberian Orchestra was formed in 1996 by composer and producer Paul O'Neill. This TSO is based in the United States and is known for its elaborate stage shows and Christmas-themed rock operas, such as "Christmas Eve and Other Stories" and "The Lost Christmas Eve".
In 2012, a second Trans-Siberian Orchestra was formed in Russia by violinist and composer Alexander Gradsky. This TSO is based in Moscow and is known for its more traditional interpretations of classical and folk music.
