- A whammy bar
- A drill
- A 1/4-inch drill bit
- A 3/8-inch drill bit
- A screwdriver
- A hammer
- A punch
Instructions:
1. Mark the location where you want to install the whammy bar. The whammy bar should be installed in the center of the guitar's body, just below the bridge.
2. Drill a 1/4-inch hole at the marked location. This hole will be used to insert the whammy bar's threaded rod.
3. Drill a 3/8-inch hole about 1/2-inch deep at the same location. This hole will be used to house the whammy bar's spring.
4. Insert the whammy bar's threaded rod into the 1/4-inch hole.
5. Place the whammy bar's spring into the 3/8-inch hole.
6. Screw the whammy bar's locking nut onto the threaded rod.
7. Tighten the locking nut until the whammy bar is secure.
8. Use a screwdriver to adjust the whammy bar's spring tension.
9. Use a hammer and punch to create a small divot in the guitar's body where the whammy bar's arm will rest.
10. Attach the whammy bar's arm to the threaded rod.
11. Tune the guitar and enjoy playing with your new whammy bar!
