Maxim Vengerov plays the famous "ex Kreutzer" Guarneri del Gesu "Vengerov" violin made in 1727 by Giuseppe Antonio Guarneri.
The violin has a nickname which is "ex-Kreutzer" which refers to the famous French violinist Rodolphe Kreutzer, its previous owner.
