When did one direction became a band and began to sing?

The boy band One Direction was formed in 2010 on The X Factor UK, a music talent competition show. The group consists of five members: Niall Horan, Zayn Malik, Liam Payne, Harry Styles, and Louis Tomlinson. They released their debut album, Up All Night, in 2011, which became an international success. The band released four more albums: Take Me Home (2012), Midnight Memories (2013), Four (2014), and Made in the A.M. (2015). In 2016, Zayn Malik left the band, and the remaining four members continued as a quartet. In 2018, the group announced an indefinite hiatus.
