* Cardboard
* Scissors or a box cutter
* Glue
* A pencil
* A ruler
* A dowel or wooden rod
* String
* A sound hole punch or a sharp knife
Instructions:
1. Cut out the following pieces of cardboard:
* Two rectangles that are 12 inches by 6 inches
* Two rectangles that are 10 inches by 4 inches
* Two triangles that are 8 inches by 4 inches
* One circle that is 4 inches in diameter
2. Glue the two 12-inch by 6-inch rectangles together to form the body of the violin.
3. Glue the two 10-inch by 4-inch rectangles together to form the neck of the violin.
4. Glue the two 8-inch by 4-inch triangles to the sides of the neck to form the scroll.
5. Glue the circle to the center of the body to form the sound hole.
6. Insert the dowel or wooden rod through the sound hole and glue it in place.
7. Wind the string around the dowel and tie it in place.
8. Play your violin!
To make your violin sound better, you can experiment with different materials and shapes. For example, you could use thicker cardboard or wood for the body, or you could add a bridge to the sound hole. You can also experiment with different types of strings and how you tune them.
