1. Identify the key signature of the piano piece.
This will tell you what key the piece is originally in.
- For example, if the piano piece is in the key of C, you won't need to make any key adjustments. However, if the piano piece is in the key of G, you'll need to raise all of the notes by one half step (or raise the key signature up to one sharp (F sharp).
2. Sharpen all the notes in the piece by one half step.
This means that you will need to play a sharp (#) version of each note. For example, if a note is written as a C, you will play it as a C sharp.
3. Adjust any accidentals in the piece accordingly.
For example, if a piece has a natural sign (♮) written in front of a note, you will need to play that note as a sharp instead of a natural.
4. Play the piece in the key of Bb Tenor Sax.
Once you have transposed all of the notes, you can play the piece in the key of Bb Tenor Saxophone.
