When was acoustic guitar invented?

The acoustic guitar, with six strings and the general appearance we are familiar with today, began to emerge in Spain early in the 19th century and it eventually developed to the modern incarnation, known as "Torres model" after Antonio de Torres Jurado of Spain, at around 1850.
