How do you play whistle on the trombone?

You can't play a whistle on a trombone! Trombones are brass instruments, and their sound is created by buzzing your lips into the mouthpiece, not by blowing air through a hole like a whistle.

However, you can achieve a "whistle-like" effect on the trombone by using a technique called "whistle-tone". Here's how it works:

1. Play a normal note: Start with a regular trombone note, like a middle C.

2. Create a small opening in your lips: While maintaining the buzz, slightly separate your lips on one side of the mouthpiece. This creates a tiny opening, like a whistle.

3. Experiment with air pressure: Adjust the air pressure you're blowing into the trombone. You'll likely need to use less air to create the whistle-tone.

It takes a lot of practice and experimentation to get the whistle-tone to work consistently, and not everyone can achieve it.
