What makes an Australian band Australian?

There are a few factors that can contribute to what makes a band Australian.

* Nationality of the band members: This is perhaps the most obvious factor. If all or most of the band members are Australian, then the band is more likely to be considered Australian.

* Musical style: Some genres of music are more closely associated with Australia than others. For example, country music and rock and roll are both very popular in Australia, and many Australian bands play these genres.

* Lyrics: The lyrics of a band's songs can also give clues about their nationality. For example, a band that sings about Australian places, people, or events is more likely to be considered Australian.

* Cultural references: A band's cultural references can also give clues about their nationality. For example, a band that uses Australian slang or references Australian pop culture is more likely to be considered Australian.

Of course, not all Australian bands fit into all of these categories. Some bands may have only one or two Australian members, or they may play a genre of music that is not typically associated with Australia. Some bands may even sing about topics that are not directly related to Australia. However, the factors listed above can all contribute to what makes a band Australian.
