2. Hold the horn with your right hand. The bell should be pointing up and the mouthpiece should be facing your left shoulder. Your thumb should be placed on the top of the slide and your fingers should be spread out on the valves.
3. Place your left hand on the mouthpiece. Your thumb should be placed on the top of the mouthpiece and your fingers should be curled underneath.
4. Bring the mouthpiece to your lips and blow air through it. The air should flow evenly and smoothly.
5. Adjust the slide and valves to produce different notes. The slide is moved up and down to change the pitch of the notes. The valves are pressed down to change the key of the notes.

* Keep your elbows close to your body.
* Don't grip the horn too tightly.
* Relax your shoulders and arms.
* Take deep breaths and blow evenly.
* Practice regularly to improve your technique.
