The RCA Victor Model K-81 was a table-top radio introduced in 1938. It was a 5-tube superheterodyne receiver that covered the AM broadcast band and featured a 5-inch dynamic speaker. The K-81 was available in a variety of cabinet styles, including a wood cabinet with a metal grille, and a plastic cabinet.
The K-81 was popular as a general purpose radio that could be used in the living room, kitchen, or bedroom. It was also a popular radio for use in schools and other public spaces. The K-81 was discontinued in 1939 when the U.S. entered World War II.
