What is the difference between a German clarinet and regular clarinet?

There is actually no such thing as a "German clarinet".

The clarinet was invented by Johann Christoph Denner, a German instrument maker, in the early 18th century.

The clarinets in use today are descendants of the original instrument invented by Denner. Modern clarinets have some mechanical improvements compared to the original, such as the Boehm system, which makes the instrument easier to play, but they are not fundamentally different from the original clarinet.
