How did the band black sabbath get their name?
Black Sabbath took their name from a 1963 Boris Karloff horror movie, "Black Sabbath." The band's original name was "The Polka Tulk Blues Band," but they later changed it to Earth. However, there was already another band called Earth, so they changed their name again to Black Sabbath. The band's manager, Jim Simpson, suggested the name because he thought it would be a good way to market the band to horror fans.
