Balinging a musical instrument in the Philippines?

In the Philippines, the act of balinging, or tossing of a musical instrument into the air is practiced in the cultural performance or the ritual called pangalay. While some balinging traditions may involve actual objects being hurled aloft, it's primarily the musical bows which are flung as part of this practice.
