Why did Mozart play the piano?

Wolfgang Amadeus Mozart did not play the piano. He was a child prodigy who played the violin and the harpsichord. The piano, developed by Bartolomeo Cristofori in the late 17th century, did not become widely popular during Mozart’s lifetime.
