How is the trumpet held or played?

The trumpet is a brass instrument that is held horizontally in front of the player. The player's right hand is used to grip the trumpet, with the thumb placed on the slide trigger and the other fingers placed on the valves. The player's left hand is used to hold the mouthpiece and to move the slide.

The trumpet is played by blowing air into the mouthpiece. The air flows through the instrument, causing the valves to vibrate and the slide to move. This produces the different pitches that the trumpet can play.

The trumpet is a versatile instrument that can be used in a variety of genres of music, from classical to jazz to rock. It is a popular choice for soloists and for use in brass bands and orchestras.
