How many different combinations of valves are there in the trumpet?

The trumpet typically has three valves, each of which lowers the pitch of the air by a specific interval. The first valve lowers the pitch by one step (a whole tone), the second valve lowers the pitch by a whole step and a half, and the third valve lowers the pitch by two steps (a minor third). By pressing different combinations of valves, the trumpet player can produce different notes. There are 10 possible valve combinations with three valves.
