Stravinsky first met Debussy in 1902 when he moved to Paris. Debussy was already a well-established composer and Stravinsky admired his music greatly. Debussy took an interest in Stravinsky's early works and offered him guidance and encouragement.
Stravinsky also had a close relationship with Ravel. They first met in 1909 and became friends and frequent collaborators. They exchanged ideas and techniques and influenced each other's musical style. Stravinsky and Ravel had a mutual respect for each other's work and their friendship lasted until Ravel's death in 1937.
