When was Banjos banjos created?
Banjos were developed in the United States in the early 19th century. Their exact origin is not known, but it is believed that they evolved from a variety of African instruments, such as the ngoni, the akonting, and the gourd banjo. The first banjos were made by African slaves in the American South. They were often constructed from simple materials, such as a gourd, a stick, and animal skin. Over time, the banjo became a popular instrument among white musicians as well. By the late 19th century, the banjo had become a staple of American folk and country music.
