Is gospel music a part of the tin pan alley tradition?

Gospel music is not a part of the Tin Pan Alley tradition. Tin Pan Alley was a term used to describe the music publishing industry centered in New York City from the late 19th to the mid-20th century, and the music produced during that time. It was characterised by popular songs and ballads, often with sentimental or humorous lyrics, and was distinct from the more sacred music of gospel.
