Where did contemporary christian music start?

The roots of contemporary Christian music (CCM) can be traced back to the 1960s and 1970s when artists began blending traditional hymns and worship songs with popular music styles such as folk, rock, and pop.

The Jesus Movement, a spiritual revival that occurred during this time, was a significant influence on the development of CCM. During the Jesus Movement, many young people became drawn to Christianity and created music that expressed their newfound faith. Some of the notable names of the era are Keith and Kristyn Getty. They popularized contemporary worship in Churches through albums and concerts
