What is the cost to get into Oktoberfest?

The cost to access the Oktoberfest grounds is free in Germany and all ages are permitted entry during the day; however, reservations at tents usually result in higher prices for food and beers during peak hours between early evening and midnight. Visitors are allowed to bring backpacks containing drinks into the festival with some size restrictions in the Theresienwiese grounds but alcohol stronger than beer is prohibited from being brought in.
