He made his first studio recordings the following year with Sam Phillips' Sun Records which released his debut single—That's All Right/Blue Moon of Kentucky in July 1954. By 1956, with RCA Records Elvis Presley topped the country and western charts three times—with Heartbreak Hotel, I Want You, I Need You, I Love You and Don't Be Cruel; as well as the pop charts—with Hound Dog and Don't Be Cruel being crowned respectively Song of the Year and Record of the Year at the first Grammy Awards ceremony.
