Why is ides of march so famous?
The Ides of March is famous because it was the day Julius Caesar was assassinated in 44 BC. Caesar, the Roman dictator at the time, had become increasingly unpopular with some members of the Senate, who feared his growing power and ambition. On the Ides of March (March 15th), a group of senators led by Marcus Junius Brutus and Gaius Cassius Longinus conspired to kill Caesar. They surrounded him in the Senate and stabbed him to death. The assassination of Caesar is one of the most famous events in Roman history and has been the subject of many works of literature, art, and music.
